Dear Sensei Tony: What do you think of what people call“the law of attraction”?
This is Paul.
Hi Paul. What an interesting query. My personal understanding is that everything in nature obeys certain laws of action and reaction, that in an interdependent reality, all things are connected. Now, I also believe that consciousness is primary and that it is creative, but I know that this creativity is greatly affected by our own human limitations. Please see The Second Principle of Onenessin my book, The Three Principles of Oneness:
While one could argue that an enlightened being is limitless, most of us will only know this upon our complete transmogrification of being. Please see my book, The Short Catechism of Oneness in the Legacy of the Buddha:
Therefore, the most important thing we can do is awaken to our True Self and let it guide our way. When we are on our own genuine, personal path, I believe that the universe will respond to us in ways that we cannot imagine. Please try the practice I have written below. I have found it to be most helpful and I hope you do, too.
1. Visualize and/ or write down what you want or desire to happen.
2. Ask yourself why you want number one to happen and write it down. This is the real thing to focus your mental energy on.
3. Give it to the Universe; in fact, do a ritual of offering it up to the Universe. Traditionally, this would be in the offering of incense at our Centering Space. Please see my book, Free Your Mind:
Say or sing a Mantra to yourself as a way of helping to make it manifest in your life.
Points to Remember:
* Number two will happen. It may not happen exactly as you visualize in number one, but will happen in a way that I have experienced as overall best for you or what you really need.
* This process is one of co-creation. Thus, you must look for and take advantage of opportunities that will arise to make the realization happen.
* Remember that the timing of the fulfillment of your realization may be different from the Universe’s timeline. This will help you to develop the practice of “kshanti” or patience.
* Once you experience the realization of what you desired, mark it down so you can return to it whenever doubts occasionally occur.
I hope this was helpful, Paul!
